Kerry Wood
Kerry is an intercessor, pastor, teacher, university professor, church planter, consultant, discipler, conference speaker, and author. His 40 years of ministry have been focused on intercession, teaching, pastoring, and a passion to multiply leaders. Kerry and his wife, Chiqui (Ana), reside in North Richlands Hills, Texas, where they lead Table of Friends Church, disciple leadership couples, teach at The King’s University and Shiloh University, consult pastors, and write.
Kerry Von Wood, was born in Levelland, Texas, April 7, 1956 to Max and Mary Wood.
He grew up in Midland, Texas, and graduated from Robert E. Lee High School in 1974. He attended and graduated from Southwestern Assemblies of God University (Junior Class president) with the Bachelor of Science in 1978 and entered full-time vocational ministry as a Youth Pastor in January, working with Bob Nichols (Calvary Cathedral, Fort Worth, Texas), hosting youth-focused radio shows for KVTT and KPBC in the DFW market and hosting a concert series at TCU’s Ed Landreth auditorium. Kerry has been in vocational pastoral ministry since then, serving in North and South Texas, as an ordained minister of the Assemblies of God for 32 years.
While pastoring in the Houston area (Calvary Church at The Fountains, Stafford, Texas) he initiated community transformation efforts (e.g. Stafford Rise Development Corporation) and served as Community Catalyst for the pastors of Sugar Land/Stafford. He has served on the boards of College Biblique International (International Bible College, Kalemie, Democratic Republic of Congo), Mission Houston (Houston, Texas), and Stafford Rise Develoment Corporation (Stafford, Texas). He has launched or sponsored several church plants in the U.S., Ireland and Armenia. He has ministered the Gospel in more than 20 nations via leadership conferences, crusades, and local churches.
Kerry holds an earned Doctorate of Ministry from The Kings University (Los Angeles) where he received the Jack W. Hayford Chancellor’s Award for outstanding Graduate, a Master of Divinity from The Kings Seminary (Los Angeles), a Master of Arts in Biblical Literature from the Assemblies of God Theological Seminary (Springfield, MO), and the Bachelors in Christian Ministry from Southwestern Assemblies of God University. He received the 2015 Professor of the Year award (The King’s University, Dallas). He serves as an adjunct professor at The King's University (Dallas/Gateway) and Shiloh University (Kalona, Iowa) and is a member of the Society of Pentecostal Studies. He also served on the pastoral team with Gateway Equip (Gateway Church, Southlake, Texas).
Pastor Wood has authored a variety of ministry materials in addition to published articles, Bible lesson curricula and audio teachings. His most recent work is entitled "The Abba Factor" and "The Abba Formation", published by Zadok Publishing and Burkhart books.
Kerry is married to (Dr.) Ana (Chiqui) Wood, and has four grown children, Robert, Geoffrey, Audrea, and Lauren.
